The story of CafeSucre until the kettle was completed
Kaico Drip Kettle for Baristas
[Until kaico is made...]
It all started when CEO Nirei and Shoei Kogyo's president, Shorin, met. *Manufacturer Sho: "I want to make a coffee kettle. What kind of thing would be good?"
Nire: "There are many kinds of kettles, but I want one that drops at a right angle!!"
Chang: "Anything else?"
Elm: "The lid doesn't fall off, the water drains well, drips slowly, there's no dripping, it comes out to the last drop, it's not tiring, the water doesn't splash out when you put it on the fire, it's easy to control, it's stylish, you can control the amount."
After many adjustments, the Kaico kettle finally met all of our baristas' wishes.
But that's not the end of it.
Masaru: "I made about 200 spout tips. Can you try them out and see which one is easiest to brew?"
Nire: "Wow, you made so many! I'll check them out one by one."
From there, I realized that a thin pot isn't necessarily better, and the way the water comes out varies, with some having a screwdriver and others being too weak, so it's difficult to say that one pot is the right one in one.
However, this kettle has met the barista's wishes up to this point. We cannot compromise. We felt that our job began from here.
Finally, one of these bottles is adjusted to make final adjustments, and the Kaico drip kettle is complete.
The reason why many people knew about it was
In 2015, the year the product was released, our former staff member Yuka Takahashi (Yuka Nomura) participated in a competition using a sample Kaico drip kettle and won the 2015 hand drip championship. This was an opportunity to let everyone know about Kaico kettles, and many baristas used them. At that time, I once again felt the greatness of this kettle and wanted more people to use it.
After that, the S (0.95 liters) was born.
The theme at that time was to make it even easier to use.
Brewing dozens of cups of coffee every day can be tiring, so we asked ourselves what we could do to make it less tiring, and we created this coffee pot, taking into consideration the angle of the spout, the amount of water, and the direction of the arm.
We were even more delighted!!
In 2018, our former staff member, Tetsuya Fukaura, won the same competition. Although he didn't use it in the competition, the kettle that Fukaura used to practice with every day was a kettle that he arranged in his own way, and kaico+fukaura commercialized it in a similar shape.
As a reward for supervising kaico, sucre kaico was given permission to make an original color. The natural green color and walnut, which is hard and difficult to crack, are used for the long wooden lid. Currently, 0.95 is out of stock and the next production has not been decided. I hope to make it again someday.
This Kaico kettle was made by many people, including designer Makoto Koizumi, sales manager Form Lady, manufacturer Shoei Kogyo, and many others. Each and every one of them was made with great care and passion. Our wish as people involved with Kaico is that our customers will treasure and love our kettle for a long time. That is our only wish...
I am also proud and grateful to have been involved with the Kaico drip kettle.
