[Farm Information]
La Cumbre Farm
The farm covers an area of 15 hectares and is one of the larger farms in the agricultural cooperative. The harvested coffee is processed at "La Montana Tarrazu Mill". By processing every lot at their own micro mill, they have been able to ensure quality and traceability since 2009.
Since 2006, a micromill revolution has taken place in the Tarrazu area, with some producers investing the money they had saved up over nearly 25 years to set up their own production and processing facilities.
This means that farmers are no longer simply producing coffee and taking it to the mill, but are responsible for the entire process from start to finish.
In response to this trend, Jorge and his wife Ivannia founded their own micro-mill, La Montana Tarrazu, in 2009. They still maintain the farm, while their daughter Daniela is in charge of process management.
